Hi I have just installed the Asrock P4i65G Socket 478 Motherbord, I cannot get it to start.
When the power switch is pressed the fans turn for 1 second and then stop. This happens each time I press the power switch. The problem is still there when I strip the board bare.

Can anyone please help me with this issue.

Thanks
matt...

Pentium 4 2.4GHz - Nvidia GeForce 7300G - 2 x 1GB of matched non branded RAM (400MHz) - 250GB standard HDD space (EIDE)

UPDATE:

I reseated the CPU which solved the problem!

However.... (point 1) Now I get a message saying:
"Disk Read Error Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to Restart",
even though the HDD is recognised in BIOS.

I re-connected my old mobo and the HDD is not recognised any more.
When re-connected to the new mobo see (point 1)

I suspect that the HDD may have gone faulty but I don't see any reason as to why it would.
Any suggestions, insight or advice would be greatly appreciated.
