Ok, I had to get a new harddrive for my comp, last one got fried...anywho, when I installed windows xp on it, everything went fine...except one thing...noticed there wasn't any sound. I checked alot of forums for the problem, but i couldn't find any useful information regarding my computer model.....Here is the problem...and the model and specs..

Sony Vaio
PCV-RX750
Windows XP
Service Pack 1 (might be it...)
Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz
512 MB RAM

More detailed specs....I dont feel like d/l'ing acrobat reader at the moment...(dial up blowz)

I went to this site...on sony itself

http://esupport.sony.com/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=PCVRX750&upd_id=77&os_id=7

But the driver didnt work...at least I'm not sure what I did wrong...
It detects finding new hardware...being (Multimedia Audio Device), but then this shows up...(The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software) I tried checking the BIOS but it shows being "Enabled"....So I'm kinda stuck on this

Upgraded to Service Pack 2 with all updates....still nothing....*sigh*
