Pls help;

I have a DELL Inspiron B130 LAPTOP with a black screen. When I run an extended test in the diagnostic menu, I get one page showed: the device (dvd) was detected by Delldiag, maybe you need other diagnostics to test. (before finish the test, this same page was showed three times)

1) Then I use F8 to enter Safe mode , enter windows xp pro, one page was showed:

2)Does the BIOS see the hard drive (F2)?
After F2, The page showed;

system

onboard devices

video

security

power management

maintenance

post behavior

wireless

But no DRIVES between system and onboard devices.

Pls help, could you tell me what I should do?

Right now I have the Reinstallation CD Microsoft Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 in my hand.

You could always try dropping that install disc and try Last Known Good Configuration. If that's a no-worker, use a live Linux distro (Ubuntu's the best one) and back up your data, then make good use of that XP CD.
