Hi, im obviously a noob, but i need help with upgrading my pc because i have been told 2 different things by my friends and well i dont know what to believe but here goes please help;

I want to upgrade my motherboard and CPU to socket 775 i only want it to upgrade my pc not for any special reason but i have looked on ebuyer and i came across these [ links shown below ]

and im also aware that i know i have to upgrade my psu but im confused about my RAM because at the moment im running pc2700 and I'm not too sure whether i have to upgrade that to something else because a friend told me it would have to be pc4200 so if you could tell me straight it would be appriciated.

That socket 755 will require DDR2 533/667/800MHz memory, so yes you will need to upgrade your RAM as well.
