here is the situation i have a windows ME. i originally thought i had a firewall installed though a built in router firewall but for some reason it is only working on one of my computers in my home network. so in the mean time wile i fix that i decided to install Blackice. i have used it before from a CD and it worked well. I put that CD in and opened the setup file and nothing came up. i know i don't have any virus beacuse nothing is happing to my computer and norton hasn't found anything so i can't figure out what is wrong.

Don't fix anything with it unless told to do so by a more knowledgable person because almost all of the entries will be legitimate...

ok i have been having 2 main problems. when i leave my computer on it gets slower and slower. i notice this when i play music because it plays good at first then it starts to skip and i have nothing else opened. i also can not reboot. if i select restart then my computer frezes and i have to do Ctrl-Alt-Delete. the strange thing is i can still shut down with no problems.

First of all you need to update hijackthis to version 1.98.2. Run hijackthis & go to *Config\Misc Tools\Check for update on-line*. If the site is down, go here. Remove the old version by deleting the file manually. Unzip the new version into the hijackthis folder.
Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked':
