Hey
I got home from work today to find my pc as acquired a virus that goes by the name of winproantivirus. It has installed itself on my desktop and traybar. I have done a search on how to get rid of it but nothing is making that much sense. It is not in my program lists as a lot a places seem to suggest. There is a lot of suggestions about what programs should be downloaded to remove it but I do not know what one is best.
I know that I am going to have to remove files from the registry but I am at a loss on how to do that. I know how to search for files but they were not being found.

To be honest I am at a complete loss..please help a little nooby lost.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

The log can also be found here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt

Download HijackThis Executable from here. Save it to your desktop.
Start HJT & press the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. When the scan is finished a window will pop up giving you the option of where to save it. Save it to desktop where it is easy to access. Open the log file and copy the entire contents of the file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

I have downloaded the malware but when it goes to check for updates it says that there is an error downloading the list of updates.
When I first click on to check for downloads it says the maleware databases have not been installed and to run the program before product can be used.

I got the file from hijackthis to run ok and this is the log report from it. Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2

Try running MBAM without updating it and then when it's finished, update it.
The hijackthis log you posted has the formatting all over the place. Can you run hijackthis again and when saving it in notepad, go to the format Tab and make sure that wordwrap is unchecked.
Post the log from MBAM and hijackthis.
