Please help resolve my frustration..

Hi there,

For about a month my computer started acting weird. Every time I do one of the following my desktop explorer.exe freezes and crashes: right click an item on, right click an item and choose properties, right click an item copy it and paste it, click start menu, viewing a folder randomly freezes, etc.

Firefox 3 is also randomly freezing/crashing on certain searches or when clicking links. I had a threat detected by AVG about Firefox, but it was not detected in a virus scan; so could not remove it.

I have tried Malwarebytes' Anti-malware, spy bot S&D, ShellEXview for Context Menu, AVG scan, ad aware. This is really frustrating as I can't do anything without constant end task in task manager or rebooting.

I would have pointed to Antiwpa.dll as a possible culprit. Hackers are tempted to dive into more benign hacking tools such as antiwpa and turn them into trojans. It gives them a clear conscience because of what antiwpa.dll does.

It is also possible that you aren't a user of Antiwpa.dll and it was maliciously planted by the usual infection method. You could look up in Google what a trojan Antiwpa .dll might do to your system. If it's corrupted any files, then you'll need to do a Windows repair from the original install disk. So let's hope you're not running an illegal version of XP.

Also can you throw anly light on this file missing in the HiJackThis log?
