I've read through the other posts regarding Hotoffers.info, and tried some of the solutions suggested, but have been unable to fix it. Here is my HJT log - any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Daniweb patentleather11.

===============

When we're done cleaning off your system, i'd recommend that you install all the critical windows updates available from Microsoft, upto service pack 1. This will help to make your system more secure and prevent many 'problems' from reoccuring in the future.

===============

Download the newest version of HiJackThis; version 1.99.1. Then repost your log, either now, or after following the steps in the solution (if provided in this post). This version has features that might be more helpful in 'cleaning' up your system.

===============

Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:

WhenUSave

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

===============

Run HiJackThis then:

1. Click "Config..."
2. Click "Misc Tools"
3. Click "Open Process manager"

-

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

C:\PROGRA~1\Save\Save.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.
===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.hotoffers.info/228/

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WhenUSave] C:\PROGRA~1\Save\Save.exe
O4 - Global Startup: ImageFox.lnk = ?

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

folders...

C:\PROGRA~1\Save

-

Note that some of these file(s) may or may not be present. If present, and cannot be deleted because they're 'in use', try deleting them from "Safe Mode".

===============

Post back a new log after rebooting and let me know how everything goes.

Thanks Crunchie - followed the steps you mentioned, restarted, and here's my new log - some things showed up that didn't before, but still have the hotoffers problem.

thanks again for the help!!

As above :D. then remove hotoffers with hijackthis.

EDIT.

Download the Pocket KillBox
Unzip the file to your desktop.
Run Pocket Killbox and paste the full file path of each of the below files in the box and click on Standard File Kill and End Explorer Shell While Killing File. Click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle after you enter each file (see the files below).

C:\WINDOWS\System32\systr.dll

Reboot afterwards if the files are successfully deleted.

If all files are not deleted, do not reboot yet. Run Pocket Killbox again and paste the full file path in the box and click on Delete on Reboot. Next click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle. You will get a message saying "File with be deleted on next reboot, Process and Reboot now?" Click "Yes" to reboot only after the last file you enter.

Thanks again for the help - used Killbox, deleted that dll file, but hotoffers still persists.

Is the uninstall method through the hotoffers website safe? I've read the thread, but am still wary about doing anything through the site that has hijacked me.

Looking in my c:\windows\system32 folder, I see the following 2 dlls:

popup_bl.dll
searchdll.dll

Should these be there? Thanks very much for the help again.
