Task Manager

I am the only user on my pc and when I attempt to open task manager I get a prompt saying task manager was disabled by system administrator. I have vista and have tried solutions listed but cant find one to work. I have a Hijack This log. Any info would be very helpful.

Hi and welcome to the Daniweb forums :).

Got an infection showing there. Lets see if MBA-M can deal with it.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

Crunchie, I am trying to follow along on this. Often I can locate within my pc's either the offensive infiltrating programs or registry settings that don't seem "right". In THIS case I can try to spot what it is that you see in the logfile above. But... can you tell me what it is that indicates the infection to you? (in this case?). I'd be thankful.

I am downloading the softwares associated with this also.

Crunchie, I am trying to follow along on this. Often I can locate within my pc's either the offensive infiltrating programs or registry settings that don't seem "right". In THIS case I can try to spot what it is that you see in the logfile above. But... can you tell me what it is that indicates the infection to you? (in this case?). I'd be thankful.

I am downloading the softwares associated with this also.

That is the line that showed the infection. Oftentimes though, hijackthis reveals nothing and running MBA-M is the best thing to do, being one of the, if not the, premiere malware removal tools around.
