I have recently acquired the about:blank virus. I have looked at many forums online but nothing as resolved my problem. I get the imfamous blue background stating the problem (Trojan-Spy.html.smit.fraud.c). I also can not get rid of PSGuard (red and white circle in system tray. My homepage will not return from about:blank. I have fooled around with the registry and some of those have returned to normal, but I don't think its for good, so if my file log doesn't show something, thats why. I am running Windows 98 and here is my HJT log file...

Hi amill18,

Your HJT log does show signs of the "smitfraud" infection.

Please click on the "Search this forum" button at the top right-hand side of this forums's main page and type "smitfraud" (omit the quotes) into the search box. Try the suggested fixes we've posted for other members in the links returned by the search, and then repost here with the results and a new HJT log.
