Hi, lets get you all cleaned up :).

Please do the following.

Download smitRem.exe (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/resources/link240.html), saving the file to your desktop. Double click it to extract the contents to a folder of it's own. Restart your computer in safe mode, logon to the user account that is infected, open the smitRem folder and double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen and allow disk cleanup to complete. Upon reboot, you can reset your desktop background. Note: XP users using the XP theme may ex-perience a change to the Classic Windows theme. This can be changed on the themes tab of desktop properties.

Then when your computer has rebooted, please run HJT again, and place a check next to the following

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = c:\secure32.html

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = c:\secure32.html

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = c:\secure32.html

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = c:\secure32.html

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = c:\secure32.html

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpySheriff] C:\Program Files\SpySheriff\SpySheriff.exe

Click fix Checked

----------------------------------------------

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs

Remove anything having to do with Spy Sherrif

----------------------------------------------

Then please ensure that this folder does not exist.

C:\Program Files\SpySheriff

If it does delelte it and empty recycle bin.

----------------------------------------------
Reboot, then try to run ewido again.

Post a new HJT log, and the contents of C:\smitfiles.txt

Let me know if that makes it better.

here is the hjt log

CLEAN! :)

everything seems to be good but when i shutdown my pc i get the end now message and its about " Socket Notification Sink " . It gets really annoying how do i remove it? thanks.

Please download ewido to clean up any misc things. - www.ewido.net - Install. Update. Scan. Remove anything it finds.

Post a new HJT log

Yes, and on top of that, you might want to try something else. Download CCleaner (link found below in sig.). Be sure to update definitions for this. Run this to its full extent, under both 'cleaner' and 'issues' tabs.

Lastly, if ya can, try to include the Ewido scan log in your next post

However, if ya already closed it, it's alrite.

After this, another HJT log would be great.

heres the hjthis logfile, i didnt have the edio sry!

After fixing those, post a new log to be sure you're clean, but that appears to be it.

Thanks.

Tayspern, DMR, Demented : Know anything about
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SysTray] C:\Program Files\gvyjbtbc.exe?

Tad bit suspicious if cha ask me.

I would say take it out. Check that one, and have HJT fix it. Then delete the file.

Alrite, agreed. Flipboi, be sure to also check and remove this line:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SysTray] C:\Program Files\gvyjbtbc.exe

After doing this, reboot into safe mode (keep pressing F8 while starting up). While in safe mode, find this and delete it:

C:\Program Files\gvyjbtbc.exe

Next, empty the recycle bin, and reboot into normal mode. Then, post a new log.

I apolegize for not finding it at first.

Thanks.

Thanks also to Tayspern :)

hey i appriciate the help!! thanks everyone!! well heres the logfile.

Besides the fact that you Internet Explorer is out of date, your log looks clean. Are you still having problems?

errr......i dunno if this is caused by a virus or sumthing but my internet goes on and off my cable box thingy's light goes off sumtimes too, how do i fix that? or is it my isp?

my cable box thingy's light goes off sumtimes...

The "cable box thingy" is the cable modem, and it probably has more that one light on it. Depending on exactly which light goes out or starts flashing, the problem could be on your end or on the cable provider's end.

If the light is labelled "LAN", "Ethernet", or "Enet", that usually indicates an inside problem such as a bad cable between your modem and the computer, or perhaps trouble with your network connection software.
If the light is labelled "WAN", "Internet", or "Online", that indicates a problem between your cable modem and the "outside world".

There are a few things you can do to try to pinpoint and/or fix the problem:

1. Check all of the wiring involved in your Internet/network setup: Make sure the incoming cable wire (the thick, round cable) is firmly and fully tightened down to all connectors (at the wall, at the modem, etc.), and make sure all inside network cables (the ones with the telephone-style connectors on them) are in good condition (no cuts, nicks, or tight kinks) and firmly plugged in to their respective devices.

2. Turn off the cable modem and the computer (physically unplug their power cords). Let both devices remain off for a minute or two, and then:
* Plug the power cord back in to the modem and turn the modem on. Wait until the modem has fully booted up and initialized (that is, wait until the indicator lights on the front of the modem have stopped flashing and have turned a steady green. Not all of the modem's lights will be lit at this point, but this is normal.
* Once the modem has booted, turn on the computer and let it fully boot.
* See if the above causes any change in the symptom.

3. If the problem persist, call your cable provider. They can tell you if they know of any trouble with their equipment/wirnig in your area, and can also do a remote test on your particular connection to check for problems.
