Hi everyone and thanks in advance for your help!
To begin I did have McAfee but deleted it and I am now using Avast. I fell victim to the idea that something free can’t be as good as something that you pay for. However, I have only had Avast on my laptop for a couple of years and never had a problem and this is the second time in two years McAfee has let something through. Anyway that being said here is my problem. I run Malwarebytes monthly. It turned up a RootKit.Oaccess warning. I had to run it three times telling it to get rid of it before it stopped showing up. Then when I installed Avast it found two of these: Win32:Funweb.ck@ (pup) so I told Avast to delete these and they are not showing up anymore. However, I have strange things going on now. My icons will not stay where I put them on my desktop. I place them then when I log off and turn the computer back on they are all lines up on the left side of the screen. I also keep getting warning every few minutes that Avast has detected a threat and put it in the chest. So I got to checking and it seems that my firewall is off and when I try to turn it on I get an error code: 0x80070424. So I do not know what is going on or what to do. I can not get the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software removal tool to install, here is the results of everything else.

GMER one and Two are blank
Malwarebytes shows all 0’s
And here is the results of the DDS scan:

Hello, Frances. Someone will be in to help you soon. I do not have time to fully read your log. As a first step, and a quite important one, please choose one AV service to remove, and remove it now. I would suggest removing McAfee [i use Avast]. Having more than one AV service is inadvisable. They interfere, you may not get full protection.

Thank you girbil for letting me know that someone was seeing my post. I was beginning to think I messed something up trying to post it. Not sure why the numbers appeared on the left side. Your post came at a good time because when I was not getting a response I was thinking of trying to restore back to a point before the problems showed up. But I will wait for help because I do not want to cause other problems. To answer your concern I only have one AV I uninstalled the McAfee before I installed the Avast. I am going to bed for the night and will check first thing in the morning and maybe someone will be checking on me tomorrow morning.

Check PMs.

Thanks for your time gerbil, but got it taken care of on another forum.

By a reinstallation of the OS.
Hmm. Oh well.
