HI all, I'm having a problem with my memory cpu usage.
my computer is really slow and barly moves at all
In the task manager in the processes tab, a process named "svchost.exe" is taking about 150,000-270,000 K Mem Usage, constantlly and getting only higher and higher every minute.
I ran in full scan:
1. symantec antivirus
2. registry booster
3.AVG anti-spyware
4. registry smart
5. fixwelch, fixblast
6. ad-aware
7. spy-aware SE personal
8. ccleaner
9. And I tried some links that scan my pc for viruses (like panda and some other I don't remember right now).

I think it's a problem of the windows or something.

And also I recognized in 'Task manager->Processes' a strange progrem which runs as a SYSTEM and calld 'wuauclt.exe' , I think it may be a virus, I tried deleting it by myself but it has recreated itself again.

All of the programs were updated, and before I identitied that my computer is working very slow, I kept my computer up to date with symantec antivirus and spyware doctor.

BTW I have in the 'processes' six and some times five different 'svchost.exe' (*right now has 5)

'svchost.exe'-SYSTEM- 1,076 K
'svchost.exe'-SYSTEM- 247,764 K (always moving with a big changes) (with 50 on the CPU queue , and sometimes 70-90)
'svchost.exe'-NETWORK SERVICE- 1,116 K
'svchost.exe'-NETWORK SERVICE- 604 K
'svchost.exe'-LOCAL SERVICE- 444 K

Hope you guys can help me some how, I tried I think (almost) everything and can't understand what is wrong with this 'svchost.exe' that hogging all of my memory (and I have 5-6 of those :| for some reason).

what do I need to do to get some help? :..(

It's normal for those processes to be running. I can't see much in your log.

http://www.ccleaner.com/

Start CCleaner.
Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
Deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours".
Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
After CCleaner has completed, click Exit.

Run ActiveScan online virus scan:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm
When the scan is finished, save the results from the scan!

Post the report with a new Hijackthis log

The report of the Panda ActiveScan:

Incident Status Location
Possible Virus. Not disinfected C:\downloads\mpcodec.53.exe[²??\isecur.dll]

Find this file and delete it.

C:\downloads\mpcodec.53.exe[²??\isecur.dll]

If you can't delete it. Reboot into safe mode by restarting and keep tapping F8 on startup and delete then.

Everything else looks good.

I did what you told me to do, and nothing changed :\
svchost.exe still takes 50,000k-350,000 and takes 50 CPU
are you sure that it is ok that I have 5 "svchost.exe" ?

what could possibly cause svchost go up so much and won't let my cumputer work smoothly as it was?

this problem seems to apear when I installed a new driver for my graphic accelerator and installed a new game... when I started playing this game after a while the game started to run slower and slower untill I couldnt stand it and than I saw for the first the weird "svchost" thing.

another suspicious event is when I wanted to turn off the computer, an icon apeared near the "turn off" button, the "security center", but not just onec, everytime I wonna shut it down I see the icon again like it has never been installed. it's just doesn't do anything:\

Description:
svchost.exe is a system process belonging to the Microsoft Windows Operating System which handles processes executed from DLLs. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated. http://windowsxp.mvps.org/svchost.htm
and yes it normal to have more than one i have 6 .

So....what do you suggest me to do?, am I in a dead end, what do you think?

So....what do you suggest me to do?, am I in a dead end, what do you think?

not sure really ,i have 6 svchost and one of them is using about 11.800 k

check this microsoft site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314056
and do what it says to view the services running in svchost

did yo use the ccleaner mentioned in the post above ,use its issues section to fix registry ,say to to create backup

two things i would disable with hijack ,it creates backups so you can enable them again if you wish .
just to see if it makes any difference some time programs created to speed up systems actuall use a lot of ram themself to do it .
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ASUS Probe] C:\Program Files\ASUS\Asus Probe\AsusProb.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Uniblue SpeedUpMyPC] C:\Program Files\Uniblue\SpeedUpMyPC\SpeedUpMyPC.exe

I did exactly what you told me to with ccleaner and panda online activescan... :\
About this microsoft site, what do I need to do with what these commands shows me? what now.

and I disabled these two things and nothing changed :\
god damn it :\

Any other solution before giving up? :\
(and i'll just format this thing called computer)

when I was on safe mode there was only 3 svchost and one of them took about 9,000 k
but when I turn to safe mode with network or just the regular mode there are 5 svchost and one of them is above 50,000.
what can we learn about this info.?
i also scaned again in safe mode ccleaner and panda active (but panda didn't find anything)

im not totally sure but i think that is because the svchost using the most ram is the one you modem is using to connect to the net .,and is normal function of windows ,so unless y ou are having major problems i see no need to do anything about it ,but having said that its not normal if its driving up the cpu usage, but im sure what to sdo to fix it if its not a trojan/spyware . svchost.exe

Im new to this program ,but have used it on a couple of computers ,give it a try to see if it finds anything ,.
http://www.prevx.com/infected.asp

It didn't change anything :\
maybe it's the driver I installed?
what would you do after all this attempts?
burning the important thing and just format?

Did you try a driver roll back ,you do it in the device manager ,right click mycomputer/properties/hardware /device manager/display adapter properties
If that doesn't help then yes i would burn the important stuff and format And reload ,

I tried, it's the most mysterious virus (or bug) i've ever seen
oh well, if i'm already at this point: which anti-virus and anti-"every-malicious-thing" do you recommend us/me to use on the computer?
