And after that, please do the following:

You Have A Variant of the CoolWebSearch Trojan.

Please Download CWShredder from HERE and run the Program in safe mode . Press the "Fix Button" Let it fix all variants. Next, Close the program and all windows and IE windows and run hijackthis and Post a Fresh log.

Reboot to SAFE mode to run swshredder

Have Hijack This fix the following by placing a check in the appropriate boxes and selecting fix checked. Make sure all browser and all Windows Explorer windows are closed before fixing.

Yeah I missed one ,make sure all other windows are close and have hijack fix this one .

reboot and delete this file ..C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\ootr.exe ..delete file .

I believe I have. There's a possibilty that i missed to put a check mark on it. But i pretty much do as I am told by you. You are my master!

And thanks for the link to uninstall the purity thing.

Also. ON my laptop, i was pretty much doin' what i am told to do as well. I ran the Hijack this and posted the result.

i checked off what i was told to do so and then, i was asked to reboot into Safe Mode. to delete some files.

When i went to reboot into safe mode it just hung, and i was never able to boot up again.

The last error message i got was a dll error message that read:

c:\winnt\bxxs.dll could not be found or something to that affect.

are you familiar with the bxxs.dll file?

I am having my laptop sent back to Gateway (Thank God it's still under warranty)

and then i ran the hijackthis scan again and i did not find

the ones caperjack wanted me to check off. So perhaps the uninstall fixed that. but i was able to delet the file c:\windwos\system32\wnsintsu.exe
