I thought I practiced safe computing. I don't use IE, have a Virus Scanner (AVG free) and don't open unknown attachments. However something went wrong.

I tried to use Spybot to scan my system the other day and noticed it was gone. I had dome some uninstalling of apps so I thought I may have removed it accidentally. After installing and running it I found a trojan. I cleaned it up but there are still some things hapening on startup that worry me. First Microsoft Security system says the Zone Alarm Firewall is not active and SpyBot is stoping a blacklisted program from running

The system tried loading something called hosts.exe an d irc.exe both which I had Zone Alarm block. I was able to erase them in safemode but now a new file named manager.exe is appearing in the same location C:\Windows\System32\drivers\setup so I'm not sure if I am clean or not.

Remove this Service: COM+ System Application Manage
==Go Start, run, type services.msc -and press Enter. Maximise the window and at foot select Extended tab, scroll to the specific service, rclick it, select properties. Write down the exact Service Name. Press Stop if it is highlighted [you may have to set the service to Disable first]. Close Services, now type this line into the run text box and press Enter:
sc delete "exact Service Name" - don't be silly now....

NOTE: the REAL one is COM+ System Application, and it points to system32\dllhost.exe with a Process ID.
Now fix that [manager] entry and delete the file:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [manager] "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\setup\manager.exe"

Cos I don't know what else you hav don eyou may wish to do this:
==Get CCleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ - and put it in a new folder. You should keep this one for general use. I set the installation checkboxes only to open from the recycle bin. It's neater that way.
Now run CCleaner from the recycle bin rclick menu using its default settings [if you set up CCleaner as i suggested, rclicking the bin icon should give you the Open CCleaner option...]. Select the Cleaner icon, press Run Cleaner.
[For future quick temp file cleaning select the options you wish to use via the Windows and Applications tabs ..]
==Please use IE to do an online scan at panda:- http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan?
-select a link to the scan... free online virus scan...., enter a valid? email and follow through, choosing My Computer for a full system scan.
Post the log it produces here.

Will be posting the scan tomorrow

Hello Manny.
You could search for this Websearch key and delete it in registry at this key: hkey_current_user\software\ToolBar -but on its own it is no harm.

Delete this file, [and just the file if you wish to continue to use PeoplePC]: C:\Program Files\Online Services\PeoplePC\ISP5900\Dll\RAS.DLL

host.exe, if it is a worm file Kelvir.ad [and it may not exist now, Panda did not find it] would shut down Zonealarm plus some system resources. See here:http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=WORM_KELVIR.AD&VSect=T
How is everything now at startup?
