I have this virus and it has total control over everything. I can't delete it, b/c it says access denied every time. I can't even end it as a process. I got it to end once using APM and it made my screen turned blue and said fatal error? Anyone else ever get rid of this virus?

Yep. Download & instal Adaware from here
& update it before scanning.
In settings under 'scanning,' have it set to
'scan within archives,'
'scan active processes,'
'scan registry,'
'deepscan registry'
'scan my IE Favourites for banned URL's,'
'scan my host's file.'
In 'tweaks' under 'scanning engine' set it to 'unload recognised processes during scanning.'
Also in 'tweaks' under 'cleaning engine' set it to 'Automatically try to unregister objects prior to deletion' & 'let Windows remove files in use at next reboot.'
Select 'activate in-depth scan' before starting scan.
When the scan is finished select 'next.'
Remove what it finds by placing a check in the box to the left of the object. Reboot

Download & instal Spybot S&D from here. Update it before scanning.
After the scan is complete, have spybot fix everything marked RED.
On the page that first opens when you start Spybot there is an option to immunise, you should do this. In the immunise section there is also a link to download Spywareblaster. This program will prevent the install of bad activex controls that it has knowledge of. Download that & you can keep it updated by selecting the same link that you use to download it. Reboot

Download HijackThis from here & unzip it into it's own, permanent folder, (Not a temporary folder or the desktop (in a folder on the desktop is fine) & not directly on your hard drive).
If you have anything disabled in MsConfig, please re-enable it/them.
Start HJT & with all browser windows closed, press the scan button. When the scan is finished the scan button will change to save. Save the log to a text file, copy the entire contents of the text file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.

Hello,

I've noticed that its been a while since the last post in this thread. Got the same problem i think, winlgon.exe running and sending Pharmacy emails like hell. I've done all the steps i've found here, and hope u can take a look at my log-file.
I need to use this pc for work, so i need to get rid of this asap. Here's the log created by Hijackthis:

Please delete your temporary files by deleting all files and folders that are in those folders (do not delete the temp folder itself) like for example
C:\WINDOWS\Temp\
C:\Temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\
Also delete your Temporary Internet Files, be sure to also select delete all offline content.

Do a virus scan here.
If you get report of files that can’t be cleaned / deleted please write down the filenames and locations and post that in your reply.

Download then unzip and run CWShredder to clean up clicking "FIX" to have it remove all it finds.

CWShredder available from these places :-

Or this as a full download without any unzipping required

We have found that some of the CWS infections can be removed better from safe mode, rather than normal mode.
To get to safe mode use the F8 key while booting the machine. Detailed instructions from :-

Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I've done everything u said, but none of the programs found a threat (except for some cookies). Virus scan on trend micro did'nt find anything, neither did CWShredder
Normally i would be happy with these kind of results, but the thing is, me system is infected with something...
I looked around on the web for some more info about the winlgon process but i did'nt find anything about the mailing problem i've got. So now I'm really worried. First thing that i notice is that on startup norton autoprotect get's disabled automaticly. When i connect to the internet, after about 15 sec suddenly one mail after the other get's send(about Pharmacy), what i would'nt notice if i did'nt turn on the autoprotect. This is probably yet another infection on my system?
I've just used killbox to remove the winlgon file from windows/system and removed the .service from the registry. Here's a HJT log file i've just made. Hope U can give me some more info or help on how to clean up my pc, loads of thanx in advance, Kim Van Hoeck

If you want help you are welcome to it, but do not criticize volunteers who try to assist you in their free time. It does nothing to help your cause.
