Hey.. I just installed Mandrake 9.1 and was using KDE. I set my screen resolution for one not supported by my monitor (Viewsonic VE 175) and now nothing shows up on my screen when KDE starts. Does anyone know how to change the resolution so I can get back into KDE?

Edit your /etc/X11/XF86Config or /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file, whichever it is that you have

oh - btw, the screen is a lcd.. it says signal out of range after kde loads.

Don't you have access to the console? Try ctrl+alt+F1 or F2 or something.

i am looking at the file, but am not sure what to change... any suggestions?

thx

actually i had a /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.old file from shortly before i changed the resolution - so I just renamed that file back to XF86Config-4 and it is working now..
