I recently downloaded a live solaris version 10 CD. On booting from CD it takes me to a minimal grub shell that requires me to load the kernel first.

I have tried this with the various commands available for the grub shell but nothing is coming.

Please assist.

I had the same problem. You probably downloaded the opensource version. I concluded it doesn't yet work and tried Sun's 'proprietary' previous release, which boots more nicely.

Which dist are you using?

OpenSolaris?
Nexenta?
Belenix?

I use the open solaris version

Thats wierd because on mine i just hit enter at GRUB and it just boots fine

i have got the same problem, but i use Nexenta......
