Hi,
My number four on my laptop just stopped working. I took the number off just to make sure nothing was below the spring but all is clear.

I've just recently installed the operating system for the first time because the plug came out during reboot- (without the battery in) while it was trying to close down. Of course, it crashed and I couldn't retrieve it.

I've noted below all system info I could think of, hardware, and recently installed software: see below.

Please advise.

Thanks.

patssy7 go to a support center and ask them to replace the keyboard or Google for a guide to replace the keyboard by yourself.

its probably your keyboard itself gdrori suggested follow his instructions

Thanks all. Will do.

To check your keyboard, Press "4" with the shift depressed and see if you get the "$" if you dont it is the keyboard contacts, if you do it is a software problem. Reinstall your keyboard.
