anyway i have a usb flash drive (2gb)
im running Windows 7 (WinSev)
i would really like to be able to plug in my usb stick, and have my computer log in. Then when i unplug it i would like it to lock.

There are some USB drives - like this one - which seem to offer what you want, but again using hardware based (biometric, smart card, etc) technology.
I'm happy for someone to prove me wrong, but I'm yet to hear of anything which doesn't incorporate at least some specialised hardware element - a standard USB drive is far too insecure for the task at hand as far as I'm concerned
