You can't.
PDF is inherently read-only (apart from pdf forms, where users can fill in the form fields and their content can be edited by them later).

I probably did not ask my question properly. I can add yellow post notes to the pdf file, but my client says he can not. Any suggestions?

Use Acrobat Professional Version 9.0 writer

you can in Acrobat, not in Acrobar reader.

Sounds impossible. However, people who receive your PDF files can use AnyBizSoft PDF to Word Converter to change PDF to Word and then edit contents. It is a nice desktop freeware I have ever used. And I don't suggest using PDF Editor for it is too expensive for most of us, at least, not a cost-effective way I think.

None version of Adobe Reader allows you edit PDF directly. You mean highlight contents or add annotations?
