the sata drive is recognised in the bios and device manager but not in my computer.

How is this possible? What do you mean, it's not recognised in your computer?

when I left click on mycomputer the sata drive is not there but it is recognised in the bios and also in device manager but all i have under my computer is the A drive (floppy) C drive (ide hdd) and D drive (dvd/cd)

Make sure it has a drive letter. Go into Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management and choose Disk Management from the left pane. Right-click the drive, pick "Change Drive Letter" and start fiddling.

Bingo! that worked
thanx mate
