received e-mail containing a photo which I forwarded and the receipient received the e-mail and photo. The second time I forwarded it, the recepient could not see the photo and received a message that "some pictures could not be found". How do I fix this problem?

Are you sending it as a plain attachment, HTML or what?

I am forwarding it as was sent to me and while the first friend I forwarded it to received it with photos, the second friend I forwarded it to could not see the photos and received a messagte that the photos could not be found and the photos space was blank.

What's big deal ..resend it again ..
If still the problem exists, let me know..

I resent it many times, but the problem persists.

Which mail service did he and you use? Maybe his mailbox can't open those photos. Try web-based mail and see if that works...

It has nothing to do with the e-mail service, since I have even tried to forward the photo message to myself and it did not work. It must be some configuration problem, maybe I deleted in error something in my e-mail configuration, but I don't know what. I tried to forward it as an attachment and it worked, but I could not delete the original sender and list of its receipients which I normally do and all other e-mails always include the photos. I do not understand why I can forward it as an attachment but not as a simple forwarded message.

I see. You can send photos normally but not under 'forwarding' option. Well sorry, I can't help you out with this. Someone here might can help you with this...

In the mean time, don't use 'forwarding' for a while and create new mail with new attachment although it would be a hassle...

Are you using Outlook? It strips some attachments for security reasons

I tried to copy the original forwarded e-mail with its photo and send it as a new e-mail, but it did not work. The only way I can forward the e-mail with its photo is by clicking the arrow under "forward" (windows mail) which gives me the option of "forward as attachment" and when I choose it, the attachment has an icon like a microsoft data icon. The icon looks like a window, top line is blue and below it are three rows of red and blue dots and the window is on a white sheet with one folded corner. I hope this makes sense to you or anyone who can help. I previously searched on google with the same question and was directed to a forum with at least 50 people who had the very same problem.

Try using other email provider service again. USe the email account that has problem and forward the email you want to send to your friends to your new email account. Using that new account forward the mail to your friends and see whether they can see the photos. Why email service provider are you using? What type of format is the photos in?

I have been using the same e-mail service provider for many years and have forwarded many e-mail containing photos. As I said, I received the e-mail with photo when my friend first sent it to me, I then forwarded it to some friends who all received it in perfect shape. A few weeks later, I forwarded it to other friends and that is when the problem started and the e-mail arrived without the photo with a message that the photo could not be found. I then sent the same original e-mail to myself but once again, the photo could not be found and it arrived with a white blank square where the photo should have been.

Therefore, the problem is neither with my e-mail program or service provider, nor with my friends e-mail program or service provider. It must be something which was changed or deleted from my e-mail configuration but I do not know what, because when I forward it as attachment, as I described in detail in my previous reply, it arrives with the photo, but I cannot delete the receipient who sent it to me while if I forward it normally, I usually delete the receipient who sent it to me.

when forwarding as an attachment it become like an image of the original, that's why you can't remove the names and is why the picture get sent ,i think it has more to do with the way the original composer, composed the email .i use windows live mail too and have seen this happen to some email with pictures after a few weeks also, some of the pictures are gone even before i try to resend them ,i just delete the email ,usually only silly pictures from some crazy websites anyway .

The photo in my forwarded e-mail is not "some silly photo from a crazy web site", but a very important historical e-mail and therefore, it is so important that I can forward it with the pictures. Surely, there is a way to configure this right and I wonder whether someone knows how to correct this. I did a search on Google and there were many people with the same problem, so I am sure that someone at Daniweb would know how to fix this. Thanks.

sorry ,didn't mean yours was silly .
did you try saving the photo/photos to somewhere on your computer, recreate the text of the email ,and then attach the photos you saved and send the email

the second friend I forwarded it to could not see the photos and received a message that the photos could not be found and the photos space was blank.

Raya

this could be a problem with the second friends computer or email program they are using to view there emails

I have tried to save the e-mail with the photo. Cannot save the photo separately as it it in the body of the text. But saved the e-mail and when I tried to send it, the photo was a blank space. Raya

Try this, open the original email -> right click on the photo, and select "save as" or "save" on the menu, and save the picture in a folder where you can find it, and attach it to the new email.
I know it isn't the easy way, but I think it will work. :)

I have just tried and copied the photos (2) on my desktop, I then opened the e-mail without the photos and copied and pasted the photos into their respective blank spaces, and forwarded it to myself. It worked. Thanks a million. But can you tell me the reason for the problem and why it works now. Also, when the e-mail reached my mailbox with the photos, I once again forwarded it to myself and it worked again. I would be interested to know why the photos disappeared when I tried to forward the e-mail a few days ago. Raya

have you checked with the creator of the email to see how they imbeded the picture ,its possible it was linked from the web.

this is a copy /paste from a help forum on same issue as yours ,it explains a bit on embed photos .i think .
