I posted under a solved thread so I figured that I would start a new one. When I open firefox it keeps opening windows that say build yahoo toolbar. I read the solution to a similar problem on this forum so I downloaded and ran the hijackthis program. Here are the results.

Not sure what you mean.... Did you install yahoo add-on?

I am pretty computer illiterate. When I open firefox it opens many windows and it says "entering yahoobuildtoolbar". There is not a url listed. it says "about blank" in the browser window.

I dont think i added a yahoo add on. But my son has been all over the web lately so who knows. It would open hundreds of windows if I dont stop it.

I uninstalled the toolbar according to the link you gave me and it seems to have stopped the problem. If it starts up again then I will post here again.

Glad you got it sorted out.

Be sure to update your Java and remove all older versions. Yours is only slightly out of date, but an update will help keep some baddies such as Vundo at bay.

don't got time right now to go over them but a lot!just search google using the .exe in each 04 and you should find info on if its needed at startup
