Hi Daniweb family !!!
I have an Acer Aspire 4520 with Vista Home Premium and 2GB of RAM.
The Internet Explorer just quit working. When I click on the icon to start it, nothing at all happends. I went into Program Files, Internet Explorer folder and clicked on the icon in there and still absolutely nothing happends.
I ran Spybot, Malwarebytes, Super Antispyware and removed the trogans and viruses.....I think.
I still get nothing, when I click on the Internet Explorer icon, so I ran HijackThis and am posting you a log to see if you find anything that may be stopping I E. from comming on.
Any and all help is very much appreciated !!

I found the problem.....
Somewhere in this computer there is a setting that MAKES the user right click on the I.E. icon and choose RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
How do I turn that off ? I just want to click on the icon and have it work like in Windows XP.

Well, simplest way is to rclick your IE icon, go Properties, Shortcut, Advanced. You will work it out from there.

Open an elevated command prompt by typing cmd into the Search box on the Start menu, right-clicking the command prompt icon that appears at the top of the Start menu, then selecting Run as administrator --
Then enter this command and press Enter:

Net user administrator /active:yes

From now on, the Administrator account is enabled and login to that and work as administrator. Now onwards U dont need to use "Run as administrator".

And so give administrator privileges to any malware that would be interested in possessing them.
