GMER crashed the second time.

sorry i didn't pay attention to what i was doing the first time around.

# Download the TDSSKiller.zip archive and extract it into a folder on the infected (or possibly infected) computer with an archiver (WinZip, for example);

# Run the TDSSKiller.exe file;

# Wait until the scanning and disinfection completes. A reboot might require after the disinfection has been completed.

Then do the following:
Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE

* You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
* Physically disconnect from the internet.
* Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
* Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
* When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply.
* Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Run Combofix ONCE only!!

Post back with the combofix log.

Very good. Now update MBA-M and run another full scan with it. Have it remove everything found and reboot.
Post back with that new log.

Since additional infected files were found please do the following:
Please Run the ESET Online Scanner

http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/scanner.php?i_agree=14
* You can use Internet Explorer or you may use Firefox to complete this scan and you will need to allow an Active X to be installed
* You will need to temporarily Disable your current Anti-virus program.
* Be sure the option to Remove found threats is checked and the option to Scan unwanted applications is Checked.
* When you have completed that scan, a scanlog ought to have been created and located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt.

Please post back with that log.

i ran the scanner and it didn't find anything, however the log isn't in that file. the scan may have gotten cancelled early but the problem has been fixed and i'll run some more scans but it seems solved. that scan took about 2 hours and i didn't watch it finish. thanks for all your help, i was on the verge of taking it to a shop to get it fixed.

Hopefully you will return and follow these steps in order to remove Combofix as it must not remain on the computer and must be uninstalled this way:
Uninstall Combofix:
Go Start > Run [Vista users, go Start>"Start search"]
Type in:
Combofix /Uninstall
Note the space between the "Combofix" and the "/Uninstall"
Click OK (Vista users - press Enter).
Restart computer.

alright, i'll do that. thanks again!
