By explorer window you mean My Computer or you mean Internet Explorer? The reason I ask is that I see Windows Explorer running in the memory in your Hijackthis log but I see that you're posting with Firefox.

If it's Internet Explorer with the problem do this:
Go to Start, choose Run and type in there: inetcpl.cpl
Go to Advanced on the top and look in the list for Enable 3rd party browser extensions.
Disable that.

Also please tell us if you are getting any error messages.

I mean windows explorer. I can't double click on a folder and it open. The screen will flash like twice then nothing happens. There are no error messages or anything. I NEVER use IE. I can still open staroffice and other programs and use the file dialog to browse all my files and directories but i can't use my explorer not even by using win+E shortcut

If the problem started when you were updating real player you might wanna get rid of that in Hijackthis: O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot and reboot. If the problem still stands...

Go into safe mode and see if Windows Explorer is ok there: http://www.myfixes.com/slides/msconfig-31

One more thing that I've noticed is that you are using the worst antivirus program ever created: Norton. I've seen Norton create problems like that.

Well guys, i've run nearly everything under the sun but this problem is still there. It went away for a day or two but came back. It also doesn't do this when i boot in safe mode so i know it's something retarded i just don't know how to narrow it down.

Currently i've run striker, spybot, adaware, ewido, registry mechanic, full norton scan, and hijack this. I'm running out of idea guys. Help me!

Let's see if your system and application log files can give us more specific information:

Open the Event Viewer utility in your Administrative Tools control panel and look through your System and Application logs for events flagged with "Error" or "Warning". Double-clicking on such an event will open a properties window with more detailed information on the error. If you find events which seem like they might relate to your problem, post the event's details here.

To do so:
In the Properties window of a given event, click on the button with the graphic of two pieces of paper on it; the button is at the right of the window just below the up arrow/down arrow buttons. You won't see anything happen when you click the button, but it will copy all of the details to the Windows clipboard. You can then paste the details into your next post here.
