Windows Task Manager Help

First off, I have been reading the forums and have learned a lot, but nowhere near what I should know. So thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide on this one.

When I ctrl+alt+delete my windows task manager will not stay open. This is also true for the defrag and various other tools. Does everything look okay here or should I take the computer in to get it worked on?

Sorry, I wish I could help you better but I have very little experience with all the removal tools, so you'll have to wait for the virus killer guys here. Or just google for each of the malware names (that would be what I have to do now for you). Besides the commercial offers you will find some postings from various forums concerning removal including the tools they used. Then download these tools and try if they help you, too.

You can try to fix some entries with HJT: Select "Scan only" and run it, then check the entries I listed here and click "fix checked". You'll need to boot into safe mode to to this successfully. While being there, try to delete the "Secureantivirus.exe" file. (BTW this one prevents your taskmanager from being opened.) Then post a new log from normal mode.

Well done, some of the stuff seems to be gone, but there are still a few things to fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = sas.r21.mchsi.com:8000
is a (seemingly fishy) proxy server. Fix it with HJT.

is nasty entry from adware. Fix with HJT.

They all must be fixed. In Safe Mode, try to delete the rlls.dll file, then fix these entries with HJT. In addition, download Spybot Search and Destroy: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html and install it. Then download the latest updates with the update function of Spybot. Run it in Safe Mode and let it remove everything it finds. Post a new log after that. Sorry, I don't have a real concept on these things but we'll get it right together...;) BTW, how is your taskmanager doing?

My Task Bar is working but I can't delete the rlls.dll files from my system32 folder. Thanks for the help.

"cannot delete rlls: Access is denied.

D'oh! Even not in Safe Mode? Then download two programs that I've never used before, too (but seen often in this matter):
LSPfix: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
and
Killbox: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/killbox.php

Use Killbox to kill the rlls.dll: (Text stolen from dlh6213)

Unzip the file to your desktop. Go offline until this is completed.

Run Pocket Killbox and paste the full file path of the below file in the box and click on Standard File Kill and End Explorer Shell While Killing File. Click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle after you enter the file path.

C:\WINDOWS\System32\rlls.dll

Reboot afterwards if the file was successfully deleted.

If the file was not deleted, do not reboot yet. Run Pocket Killbox again, and again paste the full file path in the box, but this time click on Delete on Reboot. Click on the button with the red circle and an X in the middle; you will get a message saying File will be deleted on next reboot, Process and Reboot now? Click Yes to reboot.

Now unzip and run LSPfix. If something appears in the right box, click "finish" and reboot. If not, close it and be as confused as I am...;) Post a new log when you finished these surgeries.

Do you recognize your service provider here? I'm not sure if this is a good or a bad entry. It seems to be related to "walledgarden.mchsd.com" and they all look like an ISP. If this is your ISP, don't touch it. If not, tell me if you tried to fix it and what happened.

You're welcome and I'm glad to see that it worked! :cheesy: As a last action you can fix the very last entry in the log - it was a nasty (adware), too but the file was luckily missing.
