Internet browser problems

Greetings all,
Was hoping someone might help me with a problem that i have had for a week now . My internet browsers are not working ive tried firefox,google chrome ,opera,safari 4 ,and just recently internet explorer as well . Ie will come up but crashes as soon as it comes up all of the other browsers wont even start when i double click them. Its not my internet connection because aol works just fine. I am on a broadband connection. Also i play WoW and the play screen comes up and when i hit play it does the same thing as my web browsers do. If anyone might have any ideas on what to check plz post it for me. I am using windows xp sp2 and its a dell dimension e310 . thanks

would you be able to hook another machine to the connection? and retrace your steps on any software you put on... and check any cables .. check and remove and refit... possible reset your broadband box

Its most probably a virus/malware problem, do as below :

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) to your Desktop.

* DoubleClick mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install MBA-M.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then

click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When MBA-M finishes, Notepad will open with the log. Please save it where you can find it easily.
* Immediately Reboot the computer..

Then Download

Trend Micro HijackThis 2.0.2
Install it and click on 'Run a scan and save the logfile'.

Provide the logfile of MBAM and Hijackthis Here..
