Any tips for an old computer?

It's a dimension L-series built in 1999
It has a 733mhz pentium3 processor(370 slot)
It has 384 mb ram and 42.5 gig of hard disk space?
It runs XP just fine but it keeps (randomly) restarting and gives me blue screens saying "driver_irq_not_or_less_than_equal" and it dumps the physical memory alot
(I can't afford a new computer)

after i installed a new hard drive< i've put the old one back in but the problem still lingers
