Do you have a proxy in place? Are you able to access any site with another browser like IE or Netscape?

AJZ

i am having the exact same issue as well!

winxp sp3, trend micro internet security pro

have tried IE, Firefox and Opera, and none can connect to a page. even if I disable firewall in trend micro, same crap.

HOWEVER, if I exit out of Trend Micro, then I can surf the net no problems.

I can ping no probs as well as previous post.

searched on trend micros site to no avail. what gives?

anyone else experiencing this issue?

"The connection was reset" - Firefox
Diagnose connection - IE

"The connection was reset"
I hate it very much. I can't visit any websites like google, facebook, twitter and many more. I hate it. I am not good in computers and stuffs so please help me.

1. - If you think you have a virus post it in the Virus section - http://www.daniweb.com/forums/forum64.html
2. - Is this your own network? There seems to be open DNS.
3. - Your probably have a virus, so post in the forum section (link posted above)

Good Luck.

Hi,
I regularly have the same problem with Firefox and IE8 using AVG internet security. I have tried by disabling everything one at a time but to no avail, so my solution is and it always works for me is just to reboot and my PC works well for days on end then will happen again. I have learned to live with it as it only happens now and again it is too hard to look for the problem.

Hi guys,

HOWEVER, if I exit out of Trend Micro, then I can surf the net no problems. I can ping no probs as well as previous post.

What does that tell you? I would try another AV. A lot of great free ones out there.

@ Bob_180_Bob,

I regularly have the same problem

Have you tried another AV as well?

I have read that those AV's do cause problems, especially "Security Suites" as I'm sure you're aware of.

I personally use "Avast Home Free Edition" and have for a few years and can't recall ever having a "Connection was Reset"

Likewise.

Hi,
Mine is not the free AVG, it the top of the line, all in one, and I have run two online checks, Trend and Nortons, I have malwearebytes running and have had the problem from a clean install. I think it is a minor problem between my PC and my ISP not a virus or problem here.

Hello Bob,

I think it is a minor problem between my PC and my ISP not a virus or problem here.

Whenever a site has problems loading or doesn't load at all, I use this to verify it's not me;

Hi all,
This is not my post, I was just telling the poster that i also experience this problem. As I have a wireless connection with a 30ft antenna on the roof I assume it is the problem. I have a laptop with wireless doggle that works on a G3 cell phone signal and that often gets "The connection was reset" as the signal is lost and regained. I have had the problem from before and after a clean install on a new HD. According to 3 Anti-Virus programs and 2 anti-malware programs I have no problems on my PC other than a few tracking cookies that are cleaned out each day.
