So, I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Server for my home network that I am upgrading the storage on from a 2 disks of 250 GB RAID1 array to a 4 Disks of 500GB RAID5 or RAID10 Array. RAID 10 will yeild about 1TB of storage. RAID5 will yield about 1.3TB. Is there any reason why I shouldn't use a RAID5 for the additional space? My controller is the onboard ICH10R controller that comes standard on the X58 Platform.

FYI: This server is being used as
- The primary Domain Controller for my Home Network
- The primary File Server/NAS Box on my Home Network.

only reason is in case of dual HDD failure. i'm paranoid like none other, and i figure that if it happens once, it's gonna happen again at the worst possible time. now, granted, if the WRONG 2 HDD's fail on raid 10, you're still screwed... but that's a 1/4 chance or something like that, maybe less. raid 5, if ANY 2 HDD's fail, you just got served. is it worth 300 GB?
