I have a foxpro DOS application, which runs in Windows XP, and also on certain computers with Windows 7, but it does not run on certain computers with Windows 7, even when i changed the capatibility to Win XP, it still flashes a message saying, its not a 64 bit application. (it run fine on certain PCs with Windows 7 though). What do i do ?

Thanks.

when you run this dos program, first ask the user about windows 7.Is it a 32-bit or 64-bit edition. The problem is that this program maybe not runs under 64 bit editions of windows 7.

Hello jamesdsouza,

Have you checked compatibility?
Just an FYI for you.

It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibility.)
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".

There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:

Thanks again,

hi,

thanks to you all for your replies, No the compability option does not work, But windows 7 is available in 32 bit and 64 bit version, the said software does not run in 64 bit version of windows 7, but does run in 32 bit version of Windows 7.

Thanks
