Having had a PC motherboard go down on me, I am attempting to get all the information from the old hard-drives using a SATA docking station to read them via my Windows Vista Business laptop.

The problem is that Windows does not "see" the docking station. The supplier has send me a second one but that doesn't read either and they have now washed their hands of me.

I have read about using Device Manager and have tried but do not see how that will help. Someone did do me a CD of some important files so I know the hard disks are OK. Other plug and play devices work on my lap-top so why not this one?

Help would be appreciated.

Colin

Make a LiveCD from http://www.Ubuntu.com

When it asks if you wish to install or try press try. Plug and Play and back up.

Windows will leave you scratching your head.
