can only start my desk top in safe mode

First off I am not great with computer talk But I have been trying ot fix this for a week now and I am going crazy. so here it goes.

Was playing video games on my gate way amd phenomil 9100 E quad core and it crashed when I when to restart it I got nothing jsut the first screen where I can selet boot and bios. SO I reinstalled vista and now I atleast get to safe mode but nothing I do seems to let me start in normal mode.
