Okay so here is my deal. I'm in need of some serious help and hope that I can find that help that I need here.

I have two computers, a laptop with Windows Vista Home Basic and a desktop with Windows XP Home. The laptop runs wirelessly of course, and the desktop is directly wired.

I also have a PS2 and XBOX directly connected to the router but I seldom use them and consider them to be irrelevent unless someone wishes to note otherwise.

I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and my ISP is Comcast. I attempted to contact Comcast to get technical support tonight but they said that they couldn't assist me with forwarding my ports and that Comcast doesn't even support static IPs and that attempting to set one up wouldn't work on the network. But this seems a little untrue or possibly inaccurate because I have a friend with Comcast who has a static IP and forwards all of his ports with ease (different router).

So I've set what I believe to be a working static IP.

Here is an image of my net settings: http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/1756/forums3sv7.jpg

Static IP, correct?

So I've also done what I believe is necessary (and what I was told to do by a Linksys technician) to forward my ports.

Now you may notice that the last digit is a 5 while my static IP is set to a 3. I asked the technician about this and she told me that it was still supposed to be set to a 5. I said alright and enabled the forwards and saved. I then double checked and the ports are still blocked.

I had Windows firewall on previously and thought that might be the problem. I disabled it and nothing was solved. I had AVG anti-virus running and thought it might have some firewall-like features, so I disabled it and nothing was solved.

I'm at a loss here. At the bottom of this I will post a Hijackthis log and maybe you could inform me of any programs or applications still running that may interfere. This desktop is brand new, fresh out of the box and I've uninstalled every factory application that I could find. So the only possible culprits that I could think of were Windows firewall and my self installed AVG anti-virus. But I don't believe it is either of those. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

1) Static IP for what? Your internal network or your router? You can set static IPs on your computers without the aide of Comcast.
2) Port forwarding is basic. It may be that you are forwarding the ports to an IP that is unassigned to any computer.
