I was able to resolve using following steps:-

Windows XP, go to Start > Run
Type MSCONFIG in the Run box
Disable cmfe.exe
reboot computer

I have had other people ask me about this - plus some under Windows 7.

It's simple ...... just go to services.msc from RUN and stop the DNS CLIENT service and you will able to surf any Microsoft Site, Nothing will happen to stop that service.
