I currently operate 2 access point with the same SSID to spread wifi coverage. They're both protected via WPA2-PSK. One is a router, the other is a windows 7 laptop running Connectify.

DNS IP Address for the router is 192.168.0.1
DNS IP Address for Connectify is 192.168.2.1

My android phone can get the DNS server on connectify with no problem. However, I have a windows xp laptop that cannot get the DNS IP address automatically. I have to manually enter in the DNS IP address to resolve the issue. I'm not sure why that's happening. It would be annoying for taking around the laptop and having to change DNS server from manual to automatic all the time.

Ideas why this is happening?

run ipconfig /all in the cmd and post the results

can you get an IP automatically through DHCP server?

that is the only way you can get a ip automatically is through a dhcp server/service

Apparently it is a bug in Windows xp sp3 fixed in connectify 2.1.1
