I have a 2012R2 Server, it is currently on two GB NICs Teamed, one of the bespoke software is really old, more like a Btreive type flat DB and it is currently holding over 1 Million + records. We have 30 workstations, and while we know the software is either badly written or it is generating a lot more traffics than a standard SQL, we need to find a way to ‘fix’ this. The server is a Xeon 3.3GHz/16GB/4x1GB on Adaptec RAID10 (Avg read/Write is 250-350Mbps) I added the second NIC to team few months ago after yet another software …

I have a Dell Inspiron E1705. For some odd reason, my computer will freeze sometime while my wireless radio is on, while I'm at my apartment. I have already ruled out a power, memory, or overheating issue. I reformatted and reinstalled XP, yet it still did it. If I disable the radio, my computer doesn't freeze. Also, it doesn't automatically freeze up as soon as I turn on the radio or connect to my network. Sometimes, it may last for awhile, while other times it may only take a minute or two. Just FYI, I am on the wireless network …

Greetings, Okay, so having an odd issue with a network at work. This is a fairly small LAN with about 30-50 workstations / devices / printers / etc. So the issue in essence is that only one of the workstation on the network can access craigslist. All others time out. This is not a DNS issue as a ping to craigslist.org resolves correctly to 208.82.237.226 on all workstations. Also a tracert completes on all workstations with nothing remarkable. I have only seen this once before and the issue was never resolved. This is not an ISP issue as one of …

Hello guys, we all have read about HTTP, TCP/IP and all kinds of protocols OSI model. My genuine question is whether a protocol is hardware or it is a software or combination of both ? Your views are valuable. Thanks.

My wife and I live in an area where Satellite Internet and Phone are the only option unfortunately. So our complex setup involves a modem, router and telephone adapter. My wife's health is such that she would like to remove the presence of WiFi signals in the house if possible. This isn't as ludicrous as it sounds. First, her laptop doesn't work with WiFi and my office (and desktop computer) are remote from the router so we work successfully with HomePlugs and don't actually need WiFi signals. My question is, is it possible somehow to remove the router and its …

I have a router in one room of my house and wires running through the house into my bedroom where it's connected to a switch that further connected to several different computers in my room. What I am wanting to know is how the traffic flows from one computer to another. If computer A sends computer B a file does the data travel from A, to the switch, and then to B? Or does the traffic from A to B travel through the switch and all the way to the router and back before going to it's inteded destination computer …

Use cdma to construct the aggregate frame for two denders s1 frame 0 , s2 frame 1, the code for s1 is (+1,-1,+1,+1,+1,-1,+1,+1), the code for s2 is (-1,+1,-1,-1,-1,+1,-1,-1) I tried to solve it but I am not sure. I multiplied s1 code by -1 and s2 code by +1 and then I added the two codes , and i got this answer : ( -2,+2,-2,-2,-2,+2,-2,-2) Is this correct?

So I have a little vague question and I don't know what to even google to get right answer. I am trying to setup email client on friend's computer remotely. I tried outlook, native windows 10 client and thunderbird, they all fail to connect server in anyway with all settings. While when I try any client on my PC, just basic settings like mail server, id, password work fine and after that I am able to retrieve configuration data. So what could be causing this behavior? Any steps to fix this or troubleshoot? Any help will be great. Thank you.

Hi, I'm trying to read IP packet headers manually from a hex file. From what I understand an IP header has 20 bytes: version, HL, TOS,total length, ID, flag, fragments, ttl, protocol, checksum, source ip and destination IP. In hex that would be something like this (20 bytes - double digits = 1 byte), A1 01 2C 1A being the source IP so the following 4 bytes is the destination ip means the end: `45 00 00 28 20 8F 40 00 80 06 00 00 A1 01 2C 1A BC D6 1D EF` but then i found a few that …

Hi, I am looking for advice about internet service providers. My questions here may seem silly but please do reply. I am an entrepreneur. I am about to start a new business. This business handles a lot of confidential documents and if any of these are leaked it could bring huge financial problems. So currently I am studying the ways my documents could be compromised and I have a few doubts. Could there be a security breach through my ISP? If yes, is there any way to prevent this? How can prevent my data from being leaked? I became paranoid …

Intro Do you cringe at the thought of buying a domain and putting up with the headache of trying to make sure your IP address is up to date with your domain? Do you hate the 40 dollars you spend on DNS service each year to resolve your IP address to your hostname? Read on and learn the the flat-broke-and-busted way of maintaining a fixed hostname for your IP...even if you have dialup. I'll divide this up into 2 sections. The first will deal with Linux. The second, Windows. This is only something that I've found easy to do and …
