I have done some research trying to find an answer to this question, but have failed find answer. Gave working Dell monitor to neighbor, after purchasing adapter to connnect to printer port. (my mom decided to do this for her)
The monitor goes on and immediately goes to sleep. When I press a monitor button to get it to do something, this message pops up for less than 2 seconds, then goes back to sleep:
2: Digital input
In power safe mode
press comupter power button, or any key or move mouse

I have done all things, but message goes away and monitor is back to sleep.

When we try to hook her old monitor back up, the same things are happening. Did my mom bust her neighbors computer?? Can this be fixed?
