Hi,
I would recommend an intel board fist, these are the most reliable.
then go to Gigabyte followed by Asus, the board depends on what you want on it/budget

Happy hunting... just make sure the board is acctually compatible. 800fsb etc

[H]ard|ocp just posted what they think are the best parts for a new dream machine. If you are looking for an awesome motherboard, check out what they think is the best solution:

if you are considering overclocking... forget intel boards, they do not allow overclocking. I would go with asus myself, they have a good track rep. The asus board [H]ard|ocp suggests: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-505&depa=0

however, this board is terribly expensive as far as mother boards go.

i am sure that the abit board is awesome as well and is much cheaper (relatively)

just a bit over 100 dollars cheaper.
