Good Morning,

I have a IBM Thinkpad 600E that went dead. After much research, I replaced the CMOS battery. I then restored the BIOS settings (I think). I then tried to boot the machine from the restore CD and all I get is an error code that translates to the machine doesn't have or recognize the operating system. Since the CD has everything packaged together (purchased used in 1999), how can i fix this problem? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hi,
Boot your PC while holding down the F1 button and enter "easy setup menu" see if you can configure it to work from there.

Thanks Bob,

But it did not work. I appreciate your trying to help.

Is the BIOS set to boot CD first?
