I can get to a DOS prompt and have completed CHKDSK /R successfully but cannot boot in any mode. When I go to start Windows XP in any mode the system appears to dump all its driver files, displaying them down the screen as they go.
I've tried everything I know. Would installing a second instance of Windows XP be another solution?
Thanks for any suggestions...

if you cannot boot windows in any mode i suggest to do a reapir. insert your windows xp CD, boot from the cd DO NOT PRESS R TO REPAIR AT THE FIRST INSTANT whenyou get to the EULA press F8 then on the nex screen press r for repair. windows will delete all system files and copy them back this is like a mini setup. you will not loose any program or files that are aready on the pc.
