I was uninstalling a program using ADD/Remove....system hanged....and it now not booting.

When u power on the PC, it comes to a screen which shows safe mode etc....but selecting any mode it goes thru the entire cycle...shows the windows image and comes back to the screen showing safe Mode, Start windows normally etc... can someone suggets and help how to boot the PC....

hi, i would boot to my windows cd .chose R and go to Recovery consol and run the command for checking the disk for errors .
command is .
CHKDSK /P/F

Thanks for the solution...i tried the chkdsk command as suggested.....after 25% scanning it said there are some unrecoverable errors.....and it came out from the chkdsk command mode....pls suggest what should I do as a next step

try again ,chkdsk /P/R , with the "R" instead of the "f"tag

and if it has same results ,then you hard drive is bad
