Hello, We have a hp desktop, it's about five years old. I replaced the fan about a year ago and have recently opened it up and cleaned it out. Today when I try to turn it on, the fan immediatly runs loud and hard, then after about 30 seconds the computer shuts down. Last night we hadn't shut it off, but it was off this morning when I got up, so it had shut itself off through the night. Yesterday it possibly shut down due to lightning.

Jump to PostOpen it back up and see if there is a cable or wire where the fan is hitting it. Or is the bearing going out on the fan?
