hi i got similar problem, can't boot up my toshiba laptop. Came up with this " A disk read error occurred, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart. did that and it loops the whole time with the same message. does that means my hard drive is death? and needs replacement? please help!! thanks in advance.

@helpme...do you get any error messages? how far does the computer load???

@papadawgz...it either means your hard drive is corrupt, or you didnt hook your hard drive on properly...

also, it could be that its unreadable...i would try another hard drive before buying a new one, try one with OS installed already...but check what i said above first...
