Whenever I start using my mic (it's one of those ones that are headphones with the mic attached) it automatically sets the microphone itself to mute and I can't turn the mute off without plugging the mic and resetting it.

The manual said to unselect AGC in the Advance Controls menu of the Volume menu, but I can't open the Adavanced Controls menu. Can someone help me out?

That is a very high failure item. You will save time, and perhaps money, by purchasing a new one... The USB units just don't hold up, in my experience.
