No it didn't work. I do not understand why? Is it possibly the browser? to be honset, I overlooked that missing "http:" part. Good catch though

Ok I modified the recommended changes and the carousel is still not working even after adding the correct files.

Can anyone tell me why the carousel is still not working.
Thanks for any suggestions/advice.

I have worked on it since I posted this question. I will post an update shortly. Thanks for the help.

Hi guys,
I am trying to implement my first carousel on my website. I have 5 images with the same dimensions with the following HTML markup:

  <div id="myCarousel" class="carousel slide">

         <ol class="carousel-indicators">
             <li data-target="#myCarousel" data-slide-to="0" class="active"></li>
             <li data-target="#myCarousel" data-slide-to="1"></li>
             <li data-target="#myCarousel" data-slide-to="2"></li>
             <li data-target="#myCarousel" data-slide-to="3"></li>
             <li data-target="#myCarousel" data-slide-to="4"></li>
             <li data-target="#myCarousel" data-slide-to="5"></li>
         </ol>
         <div class="carousel-inner">
             <div class="item active">
                    <img src="/pictures/home1.jpg" alt="CASHS" >
             </div>
             <div class="item">
                    <img   src="/pictures/home4.jpg" alt="SWAROVSKI">
             </div>
             <div class="item">
                    <img   src="/pictures/home2.jpg" alt="MARQUIS" >
             </div>
             <div class="item">
                    <img   src="/pictures/home3.jpg" alt="ORREFORS" >
             </div>
             <div class="item">
                    <img   src="/pictures/home5.jpg" alt="WATERFORD" >
             </div>
         </div>
         <a class="left carousel-control" href="#myCarousel" data-slide="prev">
             <span class="glypicon glypicon-cheveron-left"></span>
         </a>
          <a class="right carousel-control" href="#myCarousel" data-slide="next">
             <span class="glypicon glypicon-cheveron-right"></span>
         </a>

     </div>

I know that I have to actually call this and include the some additional librairies. Therefore, I included the following code:

 <script type='text/javascript' src="/bootstrap.js"></script>
 <script type="text/javascript" src="/functions.js"></script>
 <script>
     //starts the carousel
 $('#myCarousel').carousel();
</script>

I inserted the above in the <head> portion of my home.html page. All that shows up on the page is the five images and the numbers 1 to 5. I am including the link to my website which is only intended for educational purposes. So please if anyone can help I would sure appreciate it.

Alex

Inline Code Example Here

Best book personally is "Learning Web Design" 4th edition Jennifer Niederst Robbins.For HTML5 anf CSS3 I would give it a 9/10 but for JScript I would give it a 3/10. Not enough material for JS. Book solutions are included also.

hey guys,
I am really new to UI design and I am trying to finish building a simple website to include on my resume. My problem is that I have a login page with a radio button asking the user if they are an existing customer. If they are they would select one of two radio buttons, yes or no. By default I have selected the yes button to be checked. Consequentally, I would only like the user login form to be displayed while hiding the user registration from. And if the user were to select the no radio button I would like to hide the user login form and display the other. This is the code I got so far.

Like I mentioned, I am a rookie and ...

Hello,
I have an issue I am not sure how to handle. I am trying to call a function from within another function but I get the following warning "2129 [Warning] implicit declaration of function "
I have defined prototypes for all my functions at the very start of main, and privided funtion definitions outside of main at the end. These are all user-defined functions. Does anyone know why I am getting these warnings?
Thanks
Alex

This is what I have done to solve it. I found an example similar to this in a text book on books24x7

typedef struct Node
{
       int ordinalSum;
       int LexemeCode;
       Line Info;
       struct Node *next;
}Node;

I appreciate all the replies, and would like to applogize for the late appreciation. It is just that I got busy with all this coding.
Thanks
Alex

Hey guys,
I am trying to implement the following but the compiler is not liking it. What can I do to fix this?
Thanks for any help.

typedef struct
{
       int ordinalSum;
       int LexemeCode;
       Line Info;
       Node *next;  <-- ???
}Node;

error # 1 syntax error before "Node"

Hey guys,
I find myself here once again seeking your expertese. Long story short, I need to create a hash function that will hash a list of lexemes in a programming language to unique indicies in a hash table. The problem is that the lexemes (provided below) must all hash to unqiue indicies will NO COLLISIONS. I know this seems odd, but their is some good reasoning behind this constriant (I will provide expaination if needed). Here are the list of lexemes:

PROGRAM
VAR
BEGIN
END
END.
INTEGER
FOR
READ
WRITE
TO
DO
;
:
,
:=
+
-
*
DIV
(
)

I just want you to know that I have tried numerious times but all with table sizes in the range of 32 to 60. Which is more than enough.Hash functions that I have tried so far include:

  1. hash= hash + (int)array[i]; //i=0 to i=lexemelength
  2. hash= 3 * hash + (int)array[i]; //same i specs
  3. hash= (3*hash) + (int)tolower(array[i]); //done when i is odd, otherwise when even do hash number 2(above).
    And some more...
    I appreciate any help that you guys can provide me.
    Thanks
    Alex

Hey guys,
I have a general question about what is and what is not included in standard C? I have a project and the instructor says we can only use anything that was included in C99. Because I have a heay experience in C++, I often find myself questioning whether this is in C or not. For instance, is toupper() and tolower() supported in C99?
Does anyone know where a reliable reference for stuff like this? I would purchase a book if it is affordable but I dont know a good book? But I would also be happy with an online refernece.
Thanks
Alex

Hey guys,
I have a silly issue that is bothering me. I am trying to read an unknown amount of lines from an input file and basically stop when I reach the EOF. I probably does'nt matter but the assignment is to create a simple lexical analyzer/scanner for a mini-subset of Pascal. Long story short, I need to read character at a time until either my buffer is full or I reach the end-of-line symbol. Because I have gone so far in my program, many of my functions a designed to rely on the inclusion of '\n' at the end of my buffer. Here is some code that will maybe assist you in understanding what I mean

Line ReadFile(FILE *in)
{
     struct Line inputLine;
     int loopControl=0;
     char c;

    //reading data into buffer
    c = fgetc(in);

    if( (int)c == 10 )
        c=fgetc(in);

    while(loopControl < 80 && (int)c != 13)
    {
       if((int) c == 10)
       {
                 inputLine.lineArray[loopControl]= c;
                 loopControl= loopControl + 1;
                 break;
       }
       inputLine.lineArray[loopControl]= c;
       c = fgetc(in);
       loopControl=loopControl + 1;

    }//end of while loop

    //setting the actual size of the array
    inputLine.lineArraySize = loopControl;
    return inputLine;
}

The structure Line looks like this:

struct Line
{
       char lineArray[80];
       int lineArraySize;
};

The problem is that I read everything in the file correctly, but when I get to the last line in the file the data on that line is skipped. This is true if I use a looping mechanism something like this:

 while( feof(inputFile)==0  )
 {
    bufferInput= ReadFile(inputFile);// read a ...

yeah it would be really easy not to use recursion at all. I just wanted to improve my recursion skills.
Thanks for the assistance anyway.
Alex

is this the equivalent of what you meant? please modify if needed, and if you do please explain why.

RemoveBlanks(char c,int i) //assuming same contents as before, and i=0 initially
{
        if( (int) c[i] == 32 && c[i+1] != 32)
        {
            //remove blank here and update size
            RemoveBlanks(c, i+1);
        }
        else if(i <= c.size() )
            RemoveBlanks(c, i+1);
}

THANKS AGAIN
ALEX

Hi guys.
I am a student who really needs some assistance with creating a recursive function in C that changes multiple consecutive white spaces (blanks) from an array of characters into a single blank. For instance:

char c [10]; // let ␢= blank symbol
where the contents are :␢␢␢␢INT␢␢␢
the outcome should be ␢INT␢
NOTE: I somehow need to keep track of the size of the array for actual latter access.

I really suck at recursion and I know that I must first establish a BASE CASE, where the recursion eventually stops, but came up with nothing serious. I am thinking maybe that the recursive call should start as soon as the first blank is identified, and from there remove the blanks. The base case will be the identification of a character other than a blank or reached the end of the array.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP
ALEX.

> HI
I was wondering if anyone knows where to find some credible information about Enterprise Agile methodology?
The information should be acceptable for a senior-level research paper.
The info. should answer the following questions if possible:
1.  describe Enterprise Agile (XBreed)
2. give the history (with names and dates) along with the origin of the method
3. Was there any special event or problem which led to its development?

and so on..
Thaks guys
Alex

Ok I will try that sometime tonight.
Thanks for the help.

Thats true but there exceptions to those guidelines. Sorry for troubling you.
But I changed the way I am doing this.
here are the changes I have made.

writeln('Please input a file name to read input from. File must be located in source file directory.');
    count:=0;
    while not eoln (input) do
       BEGIN
          read(input, FileName[count]);
          count := count + 1
       END; (*END FOR LOOP *)

       (*Padding with blanks*)
       while (count < 20) do
       BEGIN
           FileName[count] := ' ';
           count := count + 1;
       END;

However, this still did not solve my problem.

I think I has something to do with the parameters in the main procedure.

PROGRAM WordCount (input, output, InputFile,OutputFile);

The way I understand this is the input and output refer to the console I/O, whereas
InputFile and OutputFile refer to programmer defined variables of type text.
I don't know. This is crazy.
Thanks for any future assistance.
Alex.

Yes I have but I am not going to lie to you, this is part of an assignment and the assignment guidelines state that I can only use aspects that where included in orginal Pascal. Orginal Pascal did not include the string type.
Thanks

Here is most of my code for the main program.
I have also included the various function definition headers.
Thanks

                         SizeOfArray ...

No it is not.
What additional code is required that may help?
Thanks

Hey guys
I am trying to prompt the user to input a file name, and save that file name into a packed array of characters
then use that inputed flename to perform some opertions.

FileName : text;
Line = PACKED ARRAY [0..79] of char ;
writeln('Please input a file name to read input from.');
readln(FileName);
ASSIGN(InputFile,FileName);
RESET(InputFile);

The ASSIGN statement throws the following error: Error: Can't determine which overloaded function to call
Can anyone help me resolve this issue?
Thanks

Guys I have a quick general knowelege question.
When defining a function in any programming langauge that will return a pointer to a linked list created in the function, can we return that pointer by reference?

If so, can you provide me with a SIMPLE example of the following scenarios:
1- when it is necessary to return a pointer by reference.
2- when it is sufficent to return a pointer by value.

Thanks for any information.

I got another question. I am passing an array of characters to a function, but when i get into the function, before doing anything I want to make sure that the array was passed in correctly so I attempt to print the contents and it does nothing. So i assume it did not get passed correctly. The array has stuff in it, beacause i checked it before passing it as an actual parameter to the function call. here is the code:

Function Call:
ValidWords := IsolateWords(FormattedInput, SizeOfArray);

Function Definition (NOT COMPLETE):

FUNCTION IsolateWords (VAR UpperCaseWords:Line; ArraySize:integer):Line;
                       BEGIN
                           writeln('inside the IsolateWords function.');
                           writeln('Contents of UpperCaseWords',UpperCaseWords);
                       END;

where Line = PACKED ARRAY [0..79] of char ;
and FormattedInput is of type Line

Printing UpperCaseWords in the function should output the same values as FormattedInput prior to the function call, but it does not.
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks for any help

Hey guys.
I have the following loop structure condition statement:

while ( ord(UpperCaseWords[i]) >= ord('A') and ord(UpperCaseWords[i]) <= ord('Z')) do

Problem: When a compile, I get an error saying: "Error: Incompatible types: got "BOOLEAN" expected "LONGINT" "
using Dev-Pascal 1.9.2.

Description:
UpperCaseWords = PACKED ARRAY of Characters that may contain any symbol, blank space, or 'A' to 'Z'.

What I am attempting to do is determine if the ordinal value (ASCII value) falls in a range defined by the upper case ordinal value of 'A' and 'Z'. If it is, I want to enter into the loop and do some things.

I am really trying to code the c++ code into pascal
while( int(word[j]) >= 65 && int(word[j]) <= 90 ) where 65 is the ASCII value of 'A' and 90 is the ASCII value of 'Z'
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks for any help.
