Good Afternoon, everyone. I am new to this forum so I honestly don't know what to expect. But I wanted to see if I could get some help here with a project that I am working on (No! it is NOT homework). Without giving all the specifies, which would take to much time up, I would like to jump in and give you the details of what I am trying to do.

This application I am going to be showing off some of my work with a slide show of sort with a slide effect. In the click event handler for the links in the 'work list', I wanted to use a slide effect to hide the description (text) of the current work over a duration of one-half second. Trying to use the direction option to slide the description to the right. Here is what my index.html code looks like (the text isn't anything more than Lorem Ispum, right now until I get it working):
