im making a computer i have a hd with win xp but it wont boot the hd in bios, the bios is award i think it checks mem and detects ide drives an then says floppy disk failed (40) and restarts and keeps goin thru the same thing i dunno …

I recently ordered 256 Mb pc2100 ddr sdram (ecc) I went to put it in the machine that I got it for and it doesn't work and I just recently realized that dell machines take non ecc mamory. My question is, is there a way to get this to work …
